Biography

Beautiful on the Inside Records was founded as a virtual home for artists who embrace both musical craftsmanship and the deeper emotional journey within. At its heart are Swedish composer and pianist Rikard Mathisson and American pianist and composer William Ogmundson, the creators behind In Void and other unique projects that explore the balance between light and darkness, emotion and intellect, through music.

Rooted in genres ranging from neoclassical, folk, and ambient electronica, Beautiful on the Inside Records embodies a philosophy of creating music that transcends traditional boundaries. The label’s mission is to produce introspective, thought-provoking works that connect listeners with the raw beauty of life’s experiences, exploring themes of love, loss, longing, and hope.

Recent releases include the haunting neoclassical piano works of In Void, such as Un Seul Regard Suffit, Sonatine Pour Heather, and Valse du Déclin. These pieces reflect a collaboration that is more than a musical partnership—it’s a shared journey that takes listeners deep into the heart of emotions through rich, often dark and mystical soundscapes.
